We read "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" and then made our own "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom trees" out of brown paper lunch bags, foam leaves, and ABC foam stickers. It was fun! We read "The Kissing Hand" and made a special gift for our parents. We read about how Chester the raccoon was scared to go to school on the first day, but his mom kissed the palm of his hand and taught him he could put his hand to cheek and feel his mom's love all day. If your child is feeling sad or nervous you can give their palm a kiss. Don't worry, the kisses won't wash off! We also talked about emotions and how we were feeling on the first day of school. We made a bubble map of our feelings. Some of us felt happy, excited, sad, nervous, mad, and good.
