In math we are working on being able to identify and write numbers 11-40.
Here we are using the cubes to make the number 33. We are learning that 33 means that there are 3 groups of ten and 3 ones. So there are 3 in the tens place and 3 in the ones place.

You can practice this important skill at home too. You can use a variety of objects or have your child draw pictures to represent the numbers 11-40. During calendar we practice this skill by putting a dot in our ten frames and a straw in our ones place. When we have 10 straws we bundle them and move them to the tens place.
