We observed seeds and sketched what we saw inside. We found the root. We started by predicting what it would look like inside the seed. We also removed the seed coat.
We are learning how to write narrative stories across pages about something true that we did. We have been working on sequencing and telling what happened first, next, and last. We worked on writing a narrative about recess. We began by looking saying and acting out vocabulary related to recess, such as slide, climb, and play tag. We went outside and had recess and thought about what we did. Then we came back and talked about what we did at recess. We practiced saying.: "When I go to recess, first ---, then I-----.Last I ----." We used our experience to write a narrative about recess.
We are continuing to work on addition using number stories. We used manipulatives and drawings to solve number stories and we practiced solving number stories on the smart board.
We have been learning about weather. We made cumulus and stratus clouds for our window. We pulled about cotton balls to make feathery stratus clouds and we colored thick cottonballs black to make the blanket like cumulus clouds.
We read Green Eggs and Ham and then We made our own green eggs by cracking eggs into the bowl and whisking them. Then we added green dye and pour them into the skillet. Ms Griffin cooked the eggs for us. Then we tried them. We made a graph to see who liked them and who did not. Then we worked on our opinion writing and told why we did or did not like them.
We have been working on finding different ways to make 10. Today we played a game where we shook 10 two-sided counters and adding up the red and yellow to make 10.
