We have begun a mini-unit on apples. We started by turning and talking to our partner and telling them what we knew about apples and asking them questions we had about them. We made a chart of our questions about apples. We have begun to read non-fiction and fiction books about apples. On Tuesday, we made applesauce and "stained glass" apples for our windows. We also read "10 Apples Up On Top" by Dr. Seuss and practiced counting and grouping 1-5. We are going to continue learning about apples next week.

The I like myself quilt is going up! Just missing a few photos (due to some absent friends). The students all picked their favorite thing about them self after reading "I like Myself". We are also learning the word "my" in reading. We made a chart to practice reading our sight words. Reading to self during daily 5 Here's my new classroom!
