We are learning the names of the 2D flat shapes (circle, square, rectangle, triangle, and hexagon) and 3D shapes (sphere, cube, cylinder, cone). We need to know how many sides and corners the 2D flat shapes have. We need to understand how the 3D shapes move (roll, slide, stack). We also need to be able to find and compare objects around us to the 3D shapes. Their are great websites for this under our math link for shapes. Look around your home and use the 3D names to describe objects, like a can of soup is a cylinder or the tissue box is a cube.

Mrs. LucianiWelcome to my page! I've been teaching Kindergarten in Albany for 7 years. I love to take photographs and capture our learning and finally created a place to share it. Enjoy! Archives
